I am a minimalist when it comes to my food\u2013I don&#8217;t like a ton of ingredients or sauces\u2013not even cheese, usually. A street taco is a traditional corn tortilla shell with meat that is topped with fresh cilantro and raw onion\u2013just like the ones sold on the streets of Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m not normally a fan of raw onion, but diced small on a street taco, they&#8217;re the perfect addition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_street_taco_tortillas\"><\/span><strong>What are street taco tortillas?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>They&#8217;re small\u2013very small tortillas. This is so they&#8217;re easy to hold and eat on the go! They&#8217;re delicious though! If you skip the tortilla, the Carne Asada is low carb and keto\u2013so you could opt to do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could easily make this into a healthy keto or low carb meal by topping a salad with the meat and adding a ton of veggies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instructions_for_these_Carne_Asada_Street_Tacos\"><\/span><strong>Instructions for these Carne Asada Street Tacos:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>If you don&#8217;t have Carne Asada ready,<a href=\"https:\/\/mycrazygoodlife.com\/healthy-carne-asada-recipe-leftover-recipes\/\"> make this delicious recipe<\/a>.<\/li><li>Heat the corn tortillas on both sides in a skillet on the stove. This will keep it from breaking.<\/li><li>Spoon some meat in the center of the tortilla and top with diced raw onion and cilantro.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_do_you_heat_corn_tortillas_so_they_dont_fall_apart\"><\/span><strong>How do you heat corn tortillas so they don&#8217;t fall apart?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I run a bit of water over one corn tortilla, stick another one to it and then put them both on the stove to warm them. Flip a few times to warm them evenly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The water keeps the tortillas soft and you can pull them apart easily right before you make your taco. There is a lot less breaking of tortillas going on when we heat them this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, place an extra corn tortilla on your plate so that when the taco fillings fall, it fills up another taco for you. That&#8217;s a pro tip right there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_makes_these_Street_Tacos_easy\"><\/span><strong>What makes these Street Tacos easy?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Using <a href=\"https:\/\/mycrazygoodlife.com\/healthy-carne-asada-recipe-leftover-recipes\/\">leftover Carne Asada<\/a> for these tacos is key\u2013I feel like when we make Carne Asada we always have a lot left over and I don&#8217;t want it to go to waste. I know I&#8217;m not the only one with this problem, so I wanted to come up with a few ideas that would be useful with leftover Mexican meat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_are_Street_Tacos_served\"><\/span><strong>Where are Street Tacos served?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I live in Tucson, Arizona\u2013about 40 miles from the border of the United States and Mexico. We have food trucks all over Tucson that serve street tacos, and when we go to Mexico (about four times a year) Street Tacos are what&#8217;s served most there. Especially on the side of the road in food trucks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mexico has food trucks everywhere, it seems. Rather than trying to keep multiple taco toppings on hand all day I&#8217;d imagine it&#8217;s much easier for these vendors to serve quick street-style tacos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Same for us at home\u2013why dice a ton of taco toppings when you can keep things simple with street tacos? They&#8217;re so easy\u2013and sometimes I add tomatoes to the mix so we can top them with pico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Are_these_authentic_Street_Tacos\"><\/span><strong>Are these authentic Street Tacos?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>They&#8217;re as authentic as you&#8217;re going to get without going to Mexico! I&#8217;ve been traveling to Mexico for quite a while now and have had many Street Tacos while there. Corn tortillas, cilantro, and raw onions are where it&#8217;s at for traditional street tacos\u2013this combination can&#8217;t be beat!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_should_you_season_street_tacos\"><\/span><strong>How should you season street tacos?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I use my <a href=\"https:\/\/mycrazygoodlife.com\/healthy-carne-asada-recipe-leftover-recipes\/\">Carne Asada recipe<\/a> to season these street tacos! I think that street tacos are best served immediately, but where there&#8217;s a will there&#8217;s a way right? There is no count or measurement next to shrimp on the food list, so that is an item that you fill your container with to see how many fit (with the lid on).\r\n\r\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/mycrazygoodlife.com\/what-is-the-21-day-fix\/\">21 Day Fix eating plan is all based on macros<\/a> and portion control. This means that each calorie bracket is allotted a certain amount of containers to eat each day, and each container represents a macronutrient.\r\n\r\nIt should be noted that the red container food list for the regular 21 Day Fix eating plan is different than the food list for the <a href=\"https:\/\/mycrazygoodlife.com\/21-day-fix-vegan-recipes\/\">21 Day Fix Vegan Meal Plan<\/a>. You can't mix and match the vegan eating plan with the regular one. This puts vegetarians in a bit of a bind, but there are a wide variety of meatless proteins available on the regular 21 Day Fix food list such as eggs, yogurt, tempeh and tofu, fish, cheese, and veggie burgers (as long as they have more than 16 grams of protein and less than 15 grams of carbohydrates per veggie patty).\r\n\r\nLentils, quinoa, and other plant based protein sources are listed as proteins on the Vegan 21 Day Fix food list. There is no count or measurement next to shrimp on the food list, so that is an item that you fill your container with to see how many fit (with the lid on).\r\n\r\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/mycrazygoodlife.com\/what-is-the-21-day-fix\/\">21 Day Fix eating plan is all based on macros<\/a> and portion control. This means that each calorie bracket is allotted a certain amount of containers to eat each day, and each container represents a macronutrient.\r\n\r\nIt should be noted that the red container food list for the regular 21 Day Fix eating plan is different than the food list for the <a href=\"https:\/\/mycrazygoodlife.com\/21-day-fix-vegan-recipes\/\">21 Day Fix Vegan Meal Plan<\/a>. You can't mix and match the vegan eating plan with the regular one.
